Building My Digital Presence

2–3 minutes

When I started as a content writer, I could not have imagined how vast this digital world truly is. I wanted to become a part of it.

There hasn’t been a single day where I haven’t learned something new about digital marketing.

I began by taking courses in digital marketing. First, I enrolled in digital marketing courses on Coursera, starting with the Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate.

There are seven courses in this program, and I am still taking them. I have completed Foundations of Digital Marketing and E-commerce, Attract and Engage Customers with Digital Marketing, and From Likes to Leads: Interact with Customers Online.

Recently, I took a new SEO course at Yoast Academy. Additionally, I learned the basics of CMS through the Digital Content Planning and Management course.

In the Foundations of Digital Marketing and E-commerce course, I learned important fundamentals. First, I became familiar with basic digital marketing terms, including the marketing funnel, which is a foundational concept in this field. While the theory and rules aren’t one-size-fits-all, a marketing funnel is crucial when building a brand identity.

If you have a brand and want to be successful and recognized, there are steps you need to follow.

Remember, this is a long journey, and it’s essential to set both short-term and long-term goals.

Digital marketing is always evolving, but some principles remain constant:

  • Raising awareness
  • Fostering trust
  • Building loyalty

The most important thing is to know your customer. Knowing your audience means knowing who you are as a brand.

In fact, the first step in this entire process is research.

Understanding your customer persona makes everything easier. With a strategy in place, you know how to effectively use the right online channels.

SEO basics include keyword research, quality content, and website structure. However, applying SEO principles is not easy—it’s a long journey.

I like to use Notion. I have a collection to contains important digital marketing links and websites. Likes:

I’ve written SEO content, but after taking these courses, I realize that SEO is a vast field. Exploring this broad area takes time and experience.

You should work on strengthening your SEO skills, but I’ve come to understand that merely taking courses isn’t enough. You need to apply your knowledge, experiment, and gain hands-on experience. Some things need to be seen in practice. To me, SEO is like a puzzle.

I built this website to experiment and learn. I see it as a playground. I need to work on it more.

In conclusion, authors often say that the first draft should always be discarded. This website has reached its current form after many drafts were thrown away. However, I know that it will continue to change.

Stay tuned to see the changes and improvements.
